Yesterday, the Indian cricket team suffered from a massive blow as opener Shikhar Dhawan’s thumb injured caused his ouster from the Cricket World Cup 2019. Dhawan had suffered from a fractured thumb during the contest against Australia after being hit by Pat Cummins’ delivery. Despite this, Dhawan completed his century but did not step on to the ground for the second innings. Rishabh Pant who is already in England has been named as the official replacement of Dhawan. Disappointed netizens labelled this as a massive blow for the Indian cricket team. Now, Gautam Gambhir took to social media and shared a heartfelt post for Gabbar. Disappointed to know that @SDhawan25 will no longer take part in @cricketworldcup, he looked so much a part. My thoughts are with u brotherman but don’t worry not the end of the world. And best wishes to @RishabPant777. I’d urge that we don’t put any undue pressure on Rishabh.

After getting injured, Dhawan missed out on the match against Pakistan. The left-hander was then rushed to the hospital for the scans which did not reveal about the fracture. The MRI had other results to display. It was yesterday in the evening that Shankar Basu addressed the press and spoke about Shikhar Dhawan’s ouster from the World Cup 2019. The Indian opener even posted an emotional video for his fans on social media and thanked them for their constant support.
