This year Eid al-Fitr will fall on 14th June evening and will end on 15th June, but the dates vary depending on the moon sighting. The holy Ramadan month will be concluded after 29 or 30 days of fasting. On this occasion, Muslims all over the world celebrate the festivity by preparing feisty dishes which includes chicken Biryani, mutton biryani, haleem, korma, pulao, Seviyan and many more to name. The day starts by offering Namaz at the mosque and greeting close relatives, friends and neighbours.
On the day of Eid-al-Fitr, all Muslims wish by hugging each other and saying ‘Eid Mubarak’. The children of the house are treated by ‘Eidi’ which comprises of money or gifts.

The festival of Eid is absolutely incomplete without Biryani. In many Muslim households, Biryani is cooked in a huge vessel and is regarded as one of the richest dishes of all. This traditional dish takes hours to prepare as it has its own unique style of cooking, but we bet you the taste is unforgettable.
Haleem is mutton stew which is popular in the Middle East, Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. It is prepared with wheat or barely, meat, spices and lentils. The dish takes approximately seven to eight hours to cook so that the dish gives paste-like consistency. The dish is served with bread, chapattis or rice.
Nalli Nihari is one of the traditional dishes of Eid-al-Fitr. Nihari is slow-cooked in mutton curry. The dish is prepared with different flavours, spices and consists of mutton or lamb. Nalli Nihari is served with bread, rice or chapatti.
Mutton Kaleji is cooked with yogurt, spices, ginger, garlic paste and is cooked with onions. It is one of the delicacies of the festival, and no Eid is complete without tasting this dish.
Sheer Khurma is basically vermicelli pudding and is one of the mandatory sweets of the festival. It is garnished with dry fruits and some other flavours. This dish is rich in taste and has a creamy texture. This is the dish for all those who have a sweet tooth.
Seviyan is again one of the most traditional dishes of the festival and each Muslim household prepares the dish on occasion. The sweet dish is made of milk and vermicelli garnished with dry fruits. Saviyan is usually flavoured with nutmeg which gives thick layer to it, and it can be served with Sheer Khurma.
