Let the games begin! Hosts Russia is set to take to the field with Saudi Arabia for the opening match at Luzhniki Stadium for the 21st edition of the FIFA World Cup. The competition will be played in 12 stadiums, across 11 cities, spread over 1,800 miles.

Should Russia qualify from group A, where they face Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Uruguay, It will be their first ever qualification to the knock-outs stage. The hosts are the most lowly ranked team out of the 32 participating teams but that will not deter the Russians from going all out in the tournament.
