Happy Gudi Padwa 2019 Greetings: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, PM Narendra Modi, Other Politicians Extend Warm Wishes on Marathi New Year

The spring festival of Gudi Padwa, also known as Gudhi Padwa, which marks the new year for many in Maharashtra and Goa, among others, is celebrated with grandeur and show on Friday. Another festival to mark the new year, Ugadi, is also celebrated today in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. On the occasion of Gudi Padwa, PM Narendra wished the Maharashtrian community with a tweet in Marathi. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Rajyavardhan Rathore, Suresh Prabhu wished people on Marathi new year.

PM Narendra Modi tweeted in Marathi, which translates to “Happy Gudi Padwa Greetings to the Marathi brothers and Sisters from Maharashtra and around the world! Meanwhile, it is worth to know that this day is also celebrated as Ugadi, the new year for Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.  It is also celebrated as Navreh, New year’s day for Kashmiri Pandits.
